Ah, the choice of an air mattress…
It can be frustrating, I know. But you reached the one website that has it all, every last bit of information you’ll need to decide whether a specific model of an air bed is right for you.
And all based primarily on what the actual owners of the products are saying about the bed.
Who can help you decide if they can’t?
Ok, let’s get to work.
How is the review of this air bed going to work:
- We deal with the product specifications
- We list all the good things the owners have to say about this model – the PROs
- We list all the negative stuff the users have to say – the CONs
Very structured, precise and to the point.
The specifications of the product:
- Unique design featuring 40 air coils inside the mattress for unparalleled durability and support
- The bed is inflated and deflated fast and easy using a patented push-of-a-button technology. Fully inflated in under 4 minutes.
- The queen size is 78 x 58 x 19 inches when fully inflated

The PROs – the good things users are saying about this air bed:
- It is just as advertised and worth every penny…I owned a couple of different brands before and this is by far the best air bed I’ve seen…
- I had it inflated like a week ago and still holds perfectly…
- This company means business…they are serious about their product and so far it has lived up to all my expectations…
- I researched for so long and finally pulled the trigger with this bed…I cannot imagine finding a better quality/price ratio anywhere on the market…
- Finally, an air bed that stays inflated…
- The best air bed I owned so far…and this is my 4th…
- So comfie…just like my expensive mattress which cost me over a thousand bucks…
- So easy to setup and store…
- I got this bed for when I have guests around, but it’s so well made and comfortable that it can easily be used as your main bed…
- If it survives the two of my sister’s hyperactive children that I babysit on weekends, it will survive anything…
- I like the simplicity of the pump. It also barely looses any air…would recommend it anytime…
- Shipped quickly, great packaging, easy to set up…so far so good…
- High enough from the ground that it is convenient for elderly people…
- Maintains it’s stability and doesn’t “break” in the middle like my old air bed used to…
- Deserve the name completely…best night’s sleep I’ve had in a long time…
- Amazing customer service…
- I love the auto-deflation feature, it is so easy and practical…
- I waited for a while before writing this review, and I can say that this bed exceeded my expectations in most aspects that matter…
The CONs:
- It deflated the second night and won’t hold air anymore…I sent it back and waiting for a replacement…
- One of the seams popped…
- It develops a faint plastic odor out of the bag…it does go away after a few days, but it’s not pleasant if you have people coming the same night the bed arrived…
My resume:
This mattress scored 49 out of 50 in my Overall Quality Rating, which is as close to a Whammy (50/50) any mattress I ever reviewed got. I think that says a lot.
See how users rated it on Amazon.com.
I’ve been doing these reviews for years now, and I know quality when I see it. And I am seeing it in this air bed – great materials, attention to details, both automatic inflation and deflation, extremely low percentage of people reporting air leaks, stability, comfort.
If somebody just showed me the product and the owner reviews and I had to guess the price, I would never have guessed under $200. Anything under $150 for this bed is a steal. I really mean that.
Let us take a moment at the end of the review and take one more look at the most important feature (as per the vast majority of people) – the comfort.
Here is what users are saying about the comfort of this air bed:
- Amazing comfort and stability…
- Just like a high end regular mattress…
- The best night’s sleep in months…
- It is so comfortable that you forget you’re sleeping on an air bed…
- Super comfortable and doesn’t loose any of its firmness during the night…
- You do feel the cold air in the bed, but with a topper or an extra blanket under the linen, it’s just like sleeping on a quality regular mattress…
- The kids love it, since we’ve got it they’ve been refusing to sleep in their regular beds…
- The extra height adds to the feeling of comfort and stability…
- The edges are sturdy and strong, and the surface of the bed remains flat and even during the night…
- With our previous air bed, we would both sink into the middle of the bed during the night. This bed is just firm enough so that we can both comfortably stay on our sides of the mattress
- I don’t see any real difference between the comfort of this bed and my expensive conventional mattress
As I said, I believe this is one of the best air beds within its price range. Great company and a professional customer service, too.
Keep up the good work Sound Asleep!

Hello James
Thank you for getting back us so promptly. I have just looked onto the website for the EZ bed, but unfortunately, I noticed that they do not ship to Cape Town South Africa, which I forgot to mention in my previous blog. Is there perhaps any other best inflatable mattress which is to be used on a daily basis that you can advise us on using. We are looking at the Dream Series at the moment.
Good choice, Mariaan…
Hi James
We looking at purchasing a SoundAsleep Dream Series Air Mattress and would like to know if it is inflated and deflated daily would it last for approximately a year, or would the pump withstand the daily usage, as well as the seams of the bed. We have purchased a brand new product but on arrival of said product, the motor blew when we wanted to use it for the first time, and we looking for something that will not cost us again and what is durable and lasting.
Thank you
Mariaan
Hey Mariaan,
Most companies making air mattresses (apart from the luxury ones) will list in the specs that the mattress is “is not intended to be used on every-day basis”, this way they are lowering the returns and refunds.
Having said that, the Dream Series is the best inflatable bed in it’s class at the moment and if there is a mattress that can withstand that its that or some of the EZ mattresses (if your budget allows it). The EZs are better suited for every day use since they don’t touch the ground and hence have a lower probability of punctures. In addition, they feel more like a regular bed than a regular air mattress.
This is my favorite EZ: https://www.bestairmattressguide.com/air-mattress/insta-ez-queen-bed-never-flat-pump-review/
I hope this helps and do come back and let us know how it all works out.
Cheers
Will the pump for this bed work off of a car lighter/adapter?
Thanks.
Hi Rick,
I don’t think it will, sorry
Looking for an inflatable bed for expected guests in my 1 bedroom condo is daunting. What are the Soundasleep mattress’ dimensions once it is deflated, how large is the storage bag, and how much of a struggle it is to get the mattress to fit into ithe bag?
Jim,
The Dream Series from SoundAsleep packs very nicely (I own one in queen size and carry it when camping).
It weighs somewhere between 19.5 and 20 pounds, when it arrives it’s in a box that’s 18 x 14 x 8 inches but once it’s used it packs into a bag which is about 20 x 16 x 9 inches.
I hope this helps
You said this wouldn’t hold air the next day, but still rated high. Can you tell me why? I am looking to purchase.
Hey Leesa,
I guess you are referring to the CONs section of the review where I report on some of the negative things people had to share about the bed. So, it wasn’t me who said that…
There will always be people saying that some bed didn’t hold air, it is an air bed and this can happen for a number of reasons. Sometimes the mattress just isn’t good enough. In the case of this model, it is my opinion that this can only happen if you got a bed that was flawed out of the factory and that you should ask for a replacement.
I hope this clarifies things
What is your recommendation for a memory foam top or pillow top queen air bed? On your site I found one about a Fox Airbed, but wasn’t sure if you had included this or whether it was just an ad…..?
We need a very good, dependable queen air mattress for a vacation home in Florida.
Hi Lynn,
I suggest you take a look at this page https://www.bestairmattressguide.com/top-5-best-rated-queen-airbeds/
You can go wrong with any of these, they some of the best air mattresses on the market by user reviews. I personally recommend the SoundAsleep model…it’s a winner…
Does this bed work with a fitted sheet???
Yes, without problems…
Im a big dude looking for a quality airbed for car camping. The soundAsleep bed sounds perfect, but can it be adapted to use in a tent?
I read reviews and noone mentioned car camping. All talked about indoor use only.
Can I blow it up without using an electric outlet?
If its so awesome for indoors, why not for use in a tent?
Thank you
Ok, for car camping I’d probably go with an Insta Never Flat
I “tortured” it for years and still holding strong…would get a few sponge mats for underneath, though…
Cheers
Love, love, love this queen size mattress. Have used it every day for 5 days. Have had to add a little air, but the comfort out ways a little added air.
Thank you.
Hi Nettie,
I hope I was helpful. The Dream Series is the best air mattress to hit the market in years in my humble opinion. It is certainly giving the oldies a goof run for the money…
enjoy your new baby 🙂
I see you’re reviewing the queen size (which Amazon does not have or even say they’ll get it back in stock), but what about the single size? We have a very small vacation condo with only one bed, and sometimes I’d really like to sleep in a separate bed. I’m an adult who is 5’3″ and about 225 pounds. Would the single work for me? I don’t move around much at all while sleeping. Thanks!
Hi Jane,
The company that’s making the Dream Series are kind of new-comers and until recently they have only had the queen size, but they recently added the twin size. No single so far, sorry…
And yes, they do run out of stock occasionally, just because it’s the best rated inflatable bed to hit the market in years. I see that’s in stock now…just make sure that you follow the links on the website since I try to stay on top of things and get the best deals I can find at any given moment…
Hope this helps
This product is out of stock at Amazon with a message that says, “We don’t know when or if this item will be back in stock.”
Any idea how/where to buy one or what the story on the company may be?
Thanks. Trying to find a great guest queen-sized air bed THIS WEEK! Help, please!
I know Steve, I receive a few emails from people asking me just that – when the Dream Series will be back in stock. I reached out to Soundasleep (the company) and the last thing I know is that is should be back in stock by the end of July. I also asked them to shot me an email once the thing is live again. What I will do (if that is OK with you) is add you to the list of people to inform once it’s back in stock.
I hope this helps.
Take care
Looking all over for where I can order this for delivery in Canada. Very frustrating. I’ll keep looking. Thanks for the thorough review!
