About me 9

Hello there fellow campers,

James MentaMy name is James and God knows that I have spent whole weeks in comparing air mattresses both going to shop to actually touch and feel the things and reading all sorts of reviews on the internet about them.

As you may agree it is not such an easy decision to make because in the past I have actually made some bad buys and after only 3 days of sleeping on that mattress I had awful back pain. Got that solved with a visit to the doctor and $30 worth of painkillers….anyhow, long story short making the right decision when buying an air mattress is very important.

After this not so happy event I started investing some time in finding the best possible air mattress to take with you on camping trips and also one that you could use for a guest room. It is important that this mattress solves both problems because it actually means spending less on the mattress not having to buy two.

I do not want to waste your time with me talking about my life and such…the thing is that I thought it will help everybody including me, to keep track of what the best air mattress will be and make a comparison chart so that all people reading this will make a smart choice and be happy with what they bought.

If you want to talk more or find anything related to art mattresses just drop me an email using the form on the contact me page and I will get back to you ASAP and with all the information that I currently posses.

Stay safe and make smart choices campers.

we need to buy a new bed for camping. we use a cigarette lighter to 110 for power from our truck and need a raised queen bed at least 18 or more inches tall. i wanted the dream series but they said it wouldn’t work. can you recommend any?
our budget is up to $300 ish.
    thank you

The better reviewed air mattresses were like 20 inches deep. Where do you get sheets to fit them?

I was looking for a good queen size about 12″ deep so regular sheets can fit it. Anything you recommend?

      Hey Lynn,

With air mattresses I find it best that you get a sheet with an elastic band. If you take a look at the Dream Series for example it’s conveniently designed for an elastic band sheet with the indents on the side.

Now, you could go with a low profile but the quality for prolonged home use just isn’t there and even if you do use a regular sheet you’ll still see some slippage during the night because this mattresses are designed to best serve camping purposes.

I wish I could be more specific and helpful, but it’s just the way it is…

    Hi James.
I’m sure you get lots of people asking for specific info, so here’s one more:
We do a fair bit of cold weather camping. I’m old and arthritic, so sleeping on the ground is a thing of the past. I have an oversized twin folding cot that I use under a twin sized air mattress. The problem I’ve found with all of the twins I’ve found so far is that when packing them up after a week or more in the mountains, in the winter, that the mattress has air leaks the next time I use it. I believe the vinyl is being compromised when folding it up. I’ve tried folding and rolling very loosely, so much so that the mattress wouldn’t fit in the bag that came with it. All to no avail.
Is there a truly heavy duty twin or twin xl out there that isn’t double thickness? As mentioned above, I use it on a cot – I don’t want to have to carry a ladder with me to get in and out of bed.
    Thanks in advance,

Hello James, please take a few moments to preview our product The Comfort Traveler on our website. I feel that our product rivals any air mattress out there.
This is a one of a kind light weight compact portable mattress that can be used in the home, camping, RV’s, etc.
    I anxiously await your response,
    Sincerely, Gina Serna-Rivera
