The PROs:

Serta Raised Air Bed with Insta III Pump review

  • great product overall, easy to use and store…
  • I have seen no air leaks after 6 months of constant use…
  • I didn’t expect too much, and I am blown away at how comfortable this air bed is…
  • I’ve owned 4 air beds before (huge camping fan), and this is the best one so far. After the first use I decided that it was too fancy for camping, so now it’s just a guest bed…
  • I’ve spent days researching on what is the best air bed for me and I finally settled on this one, I wasn’t disappointed for one second…
  • Easy to inflate and deflate, the carry on bag is a big plus…
  • With two grownups sleeping on it, I only had to add air once every few nights…
  • I have a 7 year old son who is a very restless sleeper and I don’t get much sleep when he is around. Last night he slept very tightly on this bed and I got my rest…thank God…
  • The built-in pump is great and easy to operate, just plug and play…
  • Tough construction but a smooth finish…I love it…
  • Have been using it for over a year. Very functional, easy to operate and store, holds air very well…
  • Easy to deflate and store…
  • I am impressed with this air bed. I’ve had so many problems with my last one, the air loss and everything…no such problems with my new Serta
  • Very well built with sturdy seams, inflated it over a month ago and didn’t add air yet…
  • Very comfortable and holds air great, I’ve been sleeping on it for two weeks without adding air…
  • Regular twin sheets work well and do not slip…
  • This bed just proves that you should always go for quality, even it means spending a few extra bucks…I am sleeping like a king…
  • Proper good night’s sleep, no difference between this bed and a regular mattress in terms of comfort…

The CONs:

  • It came defective, it lost air every 20 minutes…I am replacing this…
  • One of the seams popped within the first month of use…
  • It has that plastic smell that seems to stay around the house for days…
  • Mine came with punched holes, it was unusable…still waiting for the replacement…
  • I’ve owned Serta air beds before and I have a feeling that this is not the same quality, especially the pump…

My resume:

Straight to the point, I think this is very good product.

It received 47 out of 50 in my Overall Score Rating.

I deducted one point on it’s ability to hold air, but I am not sure that’s a real issue with the product. From the number of positive vs. negative reviews I’ve seen, I would rather say that the air leaks are more of an exception.

If this happens, it’s no hassle to replace it. I know Serta has a very good customer service and they stick with their warranty. I’ve experienced this myself.

As about the other features, I like the materials used, especially the flocked top. It can really be a hassle keeping those sheets from slipping and this bed does a great job with that.

When I give my resumes and rating, I look carefully for what I call “deal-breakers”. A deal breaker would be weak seams and air leaks at high percentages of products.

I haven’t seen any deal-breakers with this product.

Now, let us take a final look at the one feature most important to the majority of people – the comfort and what the users are saying about it:

  • I sleep like a king…
  • Very comfortable even compared to my expensive regular mattress…
  • So comfortable that the second night we had to flip a coin to see who gets to sleep on it…
  • Very pleased with how comfortable this air bed is…
  • The extra height provides just the kind of comfort I was looking for…
  • It’s amazingly comfortable and gives you that feeling of support I haven’t had with my previous air bed…
  • I just lied down to test it and ended up having a long nap…
  • The height makes it easier to get on and off and adds to the feeling of comfort…
  • Just as comfortable as a regular bed…
  • I’ve owned 3 air beds before this one and this Serta is by far the most comfortable…
  • My aunt and uncle couldn’t stop blabbering about how great this bed is when they slept over…
  • It feels solid and does not sink like air beds tend to, I slept like a baby…
  • I got this as a temporary solution and haven’t really noticed the difference in comfort when my regular mattress arrived…

My final judgment is that this bed offers great value for money. It’s a bargain.
